  • Tradition

Tradition consists of 100% Faroese wool. The yarn has been produced to meet a demand for old-style yarns that have been popular in the Faroe Islands for knitting 'skipstroyggjur' or boatman's jerseys. In Faroese, the yarn is called "Samfingið" meaning 'unsorted,' i.e. the coarser fibres are not plucked out. This results in a characterful rustic yarn that is especially suitable for rugged jumpers and jackets.

  • Navia Wool Care

When it comes to the Faroese wool, its rich content of lanolin is uniquely characteristic, which makes the yarn and sweaters water-resistant. The lanolin, however, dissipates through extended wash as well as wear and tear. In accordance with this, Navia produces its own brand of specialised wool soap for machine as well as hand wash, which contains lanolin, and which both treats and cleans the product.
